Eastern Mole
  • Home Range: Males average 2.7 acres. Females average 0.7 acres.
  • Food: In many respects, moles are much more closely related to carnivorous or flesh-eating mammals than to rodents. The mole’s diet consists mainly of the insects, grubs, and worms it finds in the soil.

  • Eastern Moles are capable of causing a great amount of damage to your yard. They can dig 18 feet of tunnel in an hour. Within those tunnels the mole is capable of travelling 80 feet per minute. That is nearly 1 mile per hour. Not bad for a creature that is 7 inches long!!
